Law-Free Bison Buffalo Hunting Experience
- We offer a bona fide buffalo hunt/harvest in the field. Our animals live out their entire lives in large pastures on the 4400 acre ranch. The hunt will take place in one of these large pastures.
- Law-Free Bison does not dehorn or brand. We also do not use antibiotics, growth enhancers, or insecticides. The meat from our animals is totally natural!
- Law-Free Bison, with its High Plains location, is at the epicenter of the traditional bison range. Our animals flourish on the same hard grass prairie their ancestors did thousands of years ago. Our hunters walk the same ground as the original bison hunters of North America.
- The buffalo at Law-Free Bison have been fed on our grass and/or grass hay since birth. They have never received any feed supplements other than minerals, salt, and limited amounts of grain-based feed cake.
- We give every hunting party an entire day to complete their bison hunt. Law-Free Bison, LLC will not schedule more than one party per day, unless we have their prior permission.
- At Law-Free Bison, every buffalo hunting price includes the head, the hide, and all the great meat. In addition, our enlightened state of Montana lacks the general sales tax hunters in most other states must pay.
- Hunting is our Number One priority. We will not let a hunter shoot an animal we wouldn’t take ourselves. Our main constituency is the sportsman and sportswoman who want an affordable, enjoyable hunt in beautiful, western scenic surroundings.
Law-Free Bison is located about 25 miles from the nearest blacktop highway. We provide an extremely picturesque buffalo hunting location with the Chalk Buttes in the backdrop. Our ranch has varying topography including pine tree forests, hardwood draws, steep hills, badlands, and of course the hard grass prairie on which our buffalo thrive. If you are looking to get away from it all for a day, we can provide a beautiful hunting experience second to none!
Our Family
Carl & Camille Laughery (pronounced Law-Free) purchased the Crazy Woman Bison Ranch from our neighbors, Doug & Mary Stange, in November of 2023. We are continuing with a family owned and operated business with three children who are actively involved in the day-to-day operations when they are not in school. Our oldest son, Cardell, is off to college in Dillon, MT on a saddle bronc riding scholarship. Corlan, our daughter, is a junior and actively involved in volleyball, basketball, 4-H, and FFA. Corrik, our youngest son, enjoys football and 4-H. He is also our animal whisperer in hopes of raising a bison calf soon.
