Law-Free Bison - Montana Buffalo Hunts - 406-775-6827

Our most popular buffalo hunt is a young bull, approximately 18 months old.  They weigh about 650-800 lbs and will produce approximately 225 lbs to 275 lbs of packaged meat.

These bulls weigh 1200-1500 lbs and will yield roughly 400 lbs of meat.  The head and hide are quite impressive already and make a very nice mount!  This bison hunt provides the best of all worlds - great mount and exceptional meat!

• We arrange for skinner services to be available at the time of the hunt.  This will be an additional fee of $250 and will be cash due at time of service.
• Processing, taxidermist, tannery, and accommodations are all up to you to make arrangements for.  There are some contacts provided on our Hunter Resources tab.  Please let us know if you need assistance!  
• Gratuity not included for bison hunt or skinning services but are greatly appreciated.

A mature cow weighs approximately 950 lbs and will yield about 250-275 lbs of packaged meat.  We have had excellent reviews of the meat from any age of cow!  One gentleman that had a buffalo hunt with Crazy Woman Bison Ranch a couple years ago quoted, "I bought two cows.  One was about 2 1/2 years old, and the other was 14 or 15 years old.  I could honestly not tell the difference between the meat."  He hunted with us again in 2023!

Our most cost effective buffalo hunt is a tender yearling heifer.  They do not provide as much meat as our other offers, but what is there is extremely tasty!  Live weight is approximately 600 lbs with a packaged weight somewhere near 200 lbs.
